Clay Anderson (b. 1943) is an American artist who studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and worked under Ben Kamihira, Walter Stuempfig and Hobson Pittman.  An American Surrealist, he developed his unique technique and style in Europe after receiving two European traveling scholarships.  His images have been included in many publications including Omni Magazine.  His works are in many public and private collections including Rutgers University, Temple University and the private collections of John W. Merriam, Terrence McKenna and David Lynch.

Anderson's work is concerned with the coexistence of beauty and mystery suggesting a state of reverie.  His distinctive style unsettles and intrigues the observer.  In "Observing The Feeling of Waiting", the muted colors and unique juxtaposition of images invoke a dreamlike contemplative state in the viewer.
